This was a fun hike and explore. I found this mine site on google earth and drove about 3 hours and hiked another 3 to get there. I had no idea what to expect but it was worth the effort. There are actually 2 mines from the early 1900’s here, with the lower adit extensive and fully explorable. The upper cliffside adit in the wooden tram structure was, disappointingly, completely caved in about 75 ft in. I dont think many people have been here. There were no signs of visitors or footprints in the mines. Hope you enjoy the pics.

cyzak, the upper mine elevation is 9500 ft, with the lower mine about 200ft below it. There was snow and ice in the mine still from last year. It was an icebox in there!

Great pictures! It's a beautiful area. Makes me remember when I would visit the old mines and ghost towns in my area. Thanks for a great posting!
 

No metal detecting on the site done? Looks like a nice spot to visit for sure.
 

I did not bring the detector on this trip. Maybe next summer!
