2 Boxes tonight. I think I may be about done as another analyst at work talked me out of this, based on the fact of my time being worth more. I said, Im doing this for the Future Value of copper and he said so just buy it off Ebay for with a bit of premium. Especially because silver/copper will be going down even further here within 2 months or so....If you are going to hold for 5-10 years, the premiums are barely an issue. Coppers are not like silver where you immediately realize the huge profits from each dime/half dollar found for yout time. Seems logical. Even with a Rydale at 7 boxes a night, Im only making $10/hour by selling a $100FV, 10,000 pennies, on Ebay. After Fees, your netting about $35 for 3 hours gaining those 10K copper, and that doesnt include dump/pickup time.

Any thoughts?

You must keep doing this, it gives me something to read each morning. Just think if they drop the melt ban and you can
actually sell for Copper. For the love of God, think of your Children, Your Grandchildren and their offspring. You will
be sorry in 10 years or so when copper is $25.00 and you could have had 100,000 pennies to melt. $$$$$$$$$

Put them someplace where you have the space and don't get in the way.

Suggestions for storage:

1) Dirty Clothes Basket - we all know that men can never hit the doggone thing with our dirty clothes.
2) Under your Bed - When was the last time you ever looked there?
3) In you garage in a sealed container. Stash it next to the other garbage and you won't even know it is there after a couple
of years. We all know that the garage is the storage place for everything besides vehicles.
4) In the closet next to the sweeper, we all know that real men never use that device
5) Put a rug over the container and frequently move it from place to place in your house, pretend it is your pet.
6) Build a coffee Table out of the pennies, stack the boxes in a nice and neat orderly fashion and place a nice cloth over them.

These are just a few examples of simple storage that won't get in your way. You will thank me in 10 - 15 years.

Or, befriend a canadian member here, ship all pennies to him/her and have them send them in for melt and share in the profits.

I often struggle with the concept of is this worth my time. It's different than being at your day job getting 20,30,40 $ per hour whatever you get in corporate America. I try to see it as my time can make me some money on the side sure, but am I having fun doing it, thats the most important to me.

Ideally i'd have a source of loose bagged pennies and just run the ryedale nonstop while CRHing silver for max benefit but so far i've yet to be able to get loose bags of pennies.

Its not alot of fun opening 500 face in pennies lol...and of all the coins pennies are BY FAR the dirtiest and most coin crud infested buggers.

Regarding "worth your time", how much do you generally pay yourself during your leisure time? Seriously. I don't draw a salary or wage during my 'free' time. I know we want to make the most of our time, as it is precious, but as long as you're enjoying yourself, why worry if the return is worth your while.

Some activities I don't 'waste' my time with (ironing shirts) as I can pay someone (dry cleaner) to do it and that lets me do other things with my time. The amount I pay for the shirt vs. the time it takes me to do it, not worth my time, trust me. They can do a much better job. And I don't care to learn to do it that well, BTW.

But CRH is a hobby, so any financial gain is frosting on the cake. Sure, we all would like a return on our investment (time), but when you factor in the gas to pick up and dump, the TIME spent in line, and the skunks, I don't think any of us are making a profit.

So go about it like it's a pleasant diversion to the daily grind, and enjoy the rarer and rarer finds. Except copper that is. We won't in our lifetimes cull the copper cents from circulation, so might as well start now, and build that stock. Trust me, once you get that Ryedale, you won't worry about the 'time' involved. You will spend more time in the car driving to dump than it'll take to run through 4 boxes of cents.

Copper may be down a bit, but look to the future. It wasn't that long ago when 40%'ers weren't worth saving............and they'll always be worth the money you spent on them.

Although it is possible to melt coins here in Canada, it is more complicated than it would seem. My local dealer offers $1.80 per pound, the price is so low because he would have to get the copper shipped then pay the refinery for their services and so on. I haven't decided to take him up on that though.
