Just noticed This while Reviewing my pics.
I Didn't get over this Far , I took the Pic from
my Car window,
as I drove by.
So I know it is not
anything I did today :o

I'll have to try to Remember to Shoot up the Driveway tomorrow
on my way to K-Town or Red Bridge Grove,
& see if it's related to a Detectorist. Or just Misidentification

If it is from a Detectorst, They stayed in that area.
I didn't see anything out of Place on the other side of the Ball Field

Sorry, but I don't see a single feature in those first two pics that match. Gary

Does This Help ?

Property has been Widened, Drive ways & Paths Changed.
The Outhouse behind the school would have been at the Bottom of a steep.

The unusual Ball Field or Whatever was at the Top
of the steep Embankment.

The yellow line to the right of the Outhouse, Was a walking path up The Embankment on an angle
for the school Kids to Enter the Grounds.

Yea I don't know How I did the 1:40 the other day.
only thing I can think was Air Pressure was perfect :tongue3:

I was getting pain after half an Hour Today, but Forced myself to Keep going.
When I stopped & looked at My watch it was 50 Minutes,
so I grabbed my Other Detector with the 5" coil
and walked along the Fence Line where I Parked to get the Last 10 Minutes In :laughing7:

I Paid for it All the way home

There has to be old coins in there.....even if it was hit hard in the past!

Absolutely No Doubt.

Dirt has been Spread out

In Front & Behind the Building with picnic table Seating.
Very Thickly in spots.

hopefully they do not intend to bury the whole park in fill.

Both these Places above have given me 1850's era Coins.
and I don't believe in the theory, their was only those and no more.
the odds are against walking to the Only Spots with Old Coins.
or even the oldest coins.

Deep in the Woods on the Edge of a Cliff is an Outhouse that is Ready to Tumble Down the Cliff.

it is the only outhouse I Ever saw set up like This.
They did Not Dig a Pit.
They propped the Back of the Outhouse over the Cliff with a
Wooden Trough of Sorts, so that when You Pee
or Whatever it runs or Tumbles Down & Over the Cliff towards the Creek :tongue3:
it May have been Strictly for peeing.
I Never tried to look in to see if there was a seat.

Now it can hardly be seen through the woods
& it looks far worse then it did years ago.
the other set of Outhouses nearer the park, with Pits Are gone now.
So is the Refreshment Stand. Not sure when they were removed.

The area is Very hard to Access this time of Year.

there is also a Dumping area in the woods, Very High Trash level.
it's obvious No One took their Trash Home after the Church or School Picnics.
They just walked it over to the Dumping area in the woods.
Clearly a 19th Century Practice.

I agree with HighVDI. I’d go back a few more times. Congrats on getting out again Jeff. Take care.

Gotcha. ....yeah I have a very similar spot. Old ball field. Not quite as old of coins as you speak of but but definitely a little dirt played with while putting in sewerage ect. Some of the finds are garrett carrot deep! Everyone gave up on the spot but persistence paid off for me with over 10 silvers. I give a little credit to my 800 too..

Hope you snag some more goodies from the spot and post em up!

Beautiful area, glad you got out! :occasion14:

While there may be a curse involved. But, ya gotta admit, hunting all these "different" places has added a little more spark to your hunts. :coffee2:

Don't know how much it's been hit but I sure wouldn't give up on it. I'd for sure hang out around the concession area. Good luck.
