What kind of bird lays the eggs right on the ground?
Quail, road runners are 2 I'm familiar with🤘 and Turkey
I believe the above are Bobwhite Quail
 

Those are Killdeer eggs.. one of the very few who nest on the ground….✌️
I’ve walked up on a killdeer once before. He ran a good 5 yards away and started flapping about, looking as if it had a broken wing.
I never did see the eggs.

They are great at luring away from the nest.
