Just as many times before I scored a good find and from there on not much else. I found some broken pieces and a quartz core. This one has a tip ding and is a Woodland Spike but only around a inch long but I’m happy to add it to my 2023 frame.

Quail, road runners are 2 I'm familiar with🤘 and Turkey
I believe the above are Bobwhite Quail

Those are Killdeer eggs.. one of the very few who nest on the ground….✌️

I’ve walked up on a killdeer once before. He ran a good 5 yards away and started flapping about, looking as if it had a broken wing.
I never did see the eggs.

They are great at luring away from the nest.

Mom flew by then acted like she had a broken wing. Most predators would of run over for a quick snack just to get fooled
