I got on the internet to look up Michael B. It is inscribed inside the ring and I believed it to be the maker. I was correct!
I e-mailed a retail jeweler that sells his rings and asked for a quote on the ring , saying I had seen one and was interested in a possable purchase. I also called a major retailer in Chicago to ask the same question.

First call was from the New York jeweler. Said the ring has 1.2 ct of diamonds, 5 mm wide, pt 900. Retail is 8,000.00 but they could special order one for 6,600.00

Then the Chicago jeweler called said retail is 10,600.00 and they could order one for 8,600.00 plus tax so about 9,400.00. LOL

I thanked each of them very much and said it was a little above my price range. Yea more like WAY ABOVE!!!!

Thanks for all the complements. That is a once in a life time find.

P.S. Any one want a Micheal B for 50% off!!! LOL

I must have missed the posts from all of you saying "did you look for the rightful owner?", 'cause honestly, as much as I can use that kind of cash, I would not be able to sleep nights knowing that someone lost a posession of that kind of value.

just my opinion.

That's a nice ring Ron.

The price is even nicer. I'm sure your gonna find more.

Incredible.

Way to go! Congrats on an elevation in your financial status lol!!!

Wow, 8 to 10 grand! I would have passed out! Congrats. Do you have to check with the cops before you sell it?

Re: The Jeweler called today. UNBELIEVABLE!!!UPDATE!!

Thanks for all the congrats folks, and may each of you get to feel this feeling!!!!!!

I contacted the designers studio and told them I had found one of there rings in Chicago and asked if there was any way to find the owner. As there was no name or inscription inside the ring.
The person on the phone said they would have to check and would get back to me. He took my number that was 2 1/2 weeks ago, I'm assuming there is no way or noone they contacted lost one. The jeweler in Chicago said there office has only sold 2 of them. So it must have been someone on vacation.

Guess that leaves it to me.

I did take it in for an apprasel, replacement cost 9,500.00

Where did you find it? What detector..what kind of signal did you get?!??!

Found with a whites surfmaster freshwater detector. In the dry sand, 6 inches down, banger signal. Beach downtown Chicago.

I have worked with a few designer pieces. Many times, they have a serial number inside. Have you checked for any numbers that aren't part of the normal jewelry marks?
