Not sure to what. 6" long and brass. Any one have an idea?

might have been a spring loaded holdemdowner of some sort---?

Thanks Mackaydon, thats it. I was going with some type gas key since it it was brass

The fact its brass, wont sprak when struck, tells me gas related
also the shape of the tee handle
is there a hole at the end of the key?
