The silver ring was found at a campsite where I had found 2 other brass rings and believe this to be a soldiers ring. I.E. because of where it was found there is no proof marks and its thin crude design but this is just my assumption. I can't prove this is an actual soldiers ring.

This box contains relics from the campsite mentioned above.

My favorite find was this beautiful 1830 capped bust half dime in awesome condition. Coin could have cleaned up better but I chose not to "push it". Note both coins were dug on the same day 2/16/14. Thanks for looking, Davers

Nice finds! Congrats!

Nice finds, especially the 1830 half dime. My only capped bust silver is an 1830 half dime. I like the patriotic token too.

That half dime is SICK!!!! I hope to be in the Capped Club someday!! That token could have been a soldier's good luck piece.. CONGRATS.. HH...

Great finds. My favorite is the token. Awesome!!!!

That "cappy" is in high grade condition for sure - nice finds all the way !

Davers that's a nice looking collection! Anytime you can throw an old silver coin in the mix makes an awesome day. Especially that particular coin!

Great finds, beautiful coin! You may not be able to prove that it's a soldiers ring but given the context it's highly likely.

Is that mint luster on the surface of the capped bust? Sweet recovery for sure. The ring, however, would be the prized find for me. There is a tragic story behind that ring that we will never know. Also, I really like the way your are set to display the artifacts.

I Thank everyone for all the reply,s/ Likes.
As My Wife would not know a Capped Bust from a Rosie & my 5 yr old (likes 5 yr old stuff).

Heck the Coin did not even win (Coin of the month) at my Detecting Club).
In my "Hurry" to get my finds Cleaned up for Find of the month , I did not even notice until Yesterday that I spelled "Patent"
wrong on one of my labels..???

I def, love the Ring as well ; as one stated- it's "Context" says it all.

The coin does seem to show some luster in the fields but as I stated
I did not try to clean it too much , The only problem that I can see on the coin is a Small Micro-Scratch just behind Liberty,s head . This likely came from me pushing my pin-pointer around in the dirt.
I'd imagined it was just another deep 22 bullet or it's short / long casing.
Always dig with care cause you never know:icon_thumleft:.

As a note I always separate the Relics I find by Location.
Ive been hunting this site for almost 2 years & have around 12 diff cases with relics from this same site ; that eventually I will combine into 2 or 3 larger cases.

To me a relic out of context is like buying a minie out of a big bucket at a flea market.
(It just don,t mean as much)...I suppose in the future if I ever sell or give my relics away folks will have to "Take my word" about the location they were found.:icon_scratch:
Sorry for my rant.
Good Luck
Davers
