When I moved here 6 years ago a couple of boxes of things turned up missing. I guess just misplaced. I had thought that a bunch of my wheates were among them. Last night while going through some things in the basement I found some of my old wheates. In total there were 50 wheates. I havent looked through them really but the oldest is 1920 and I saw a steel cent aswell. I also found 33 coppers, 3 can dimes, and 9 can pennies. I also found a "blank" upon weighing it I found it is a zinc blank(any idea if blanks are worth anything?)

I also found a 95 double die( the b in liberty is totally missing is that considered a dd?)

Also While looking through drawers in cabinets and such in the basement I found a handful of pennies which netted 4 coppers and a 1940 mercury dime. It was so tarnished that I didnt even know I had found a dime at first. Yes I plan to count it in my CRh totals lol I did find it in spare change lol

Hope you all have a great day of hunting!

Congratulations on your finds. I don't have any info for you. Keep posting and make sure you include pictures!

Hi Kenneth

Glad that you were able to re-find the lost coins. Moving tends to do this.

How is the roll searching coming for you? Last I remember you were looking for nickels.

It finally warmed up here but we got rain and now flooding. The park is totally under water... about four feet at least.

thanks for sharing

Sanat, the CRH is going great. It sure is alot of fun and I have found some good stuff! Man flooding sucks for sure. I hope you havent had any damage to your house!

A double die would the the letter or number appearing to be stamped twice, with the second stamping offset a little. This is not what happens, the doubling is actually in the die, but that is the way it looks. What you are describing is a filled die.

If I'm correct, they're call Planchets. I have one and it's worth about $5. I'd hang onto it for sure! Congrats on finding your old coins.
