...AND I FOUND IT!!! Got out to a new spot today. Wasn't there 30 mins when I got a shallow high tone. Decided to dig it, even though the numbers were funky. First coin out was the walker!! YEAH!! My first!! Glad I can cross another one off my list. Pinpointer kept on singing, as I pulled coin after coin out of the hole. I ended up with NINE (9) coins total, 7 OF WHICH WERE SILVER!!! Coins from the spill: '20 walker, 2 SLQs ('25, no dater), '36 Washington, 2 mercs ('29, '36), '16 Barber dime, '26 buff (date very weak; not pictured), and a '13 wheatie (very worn; also not pictured). Based on the condition of the '36 coins, I figure this spill happened sometime in '37 or '38 (nothing newer than the '36 Washington and the '36 merc). None of the coins in this spill were more than 3 inches deep. I was truly amazed. I also found a small sterling ring (plated, but with what I don't know), and 7 wheats (not pictured; includes the '13 from the big pocket spill). Clad totaled $2.10.
Anyone know if $1.61 was a lot of $ back in '37 or '38??
Pics are below. Now at 77 silver coins for the year.
