There were actually 3 distinct musical growths going on when I was a youngster in the early 60's. The first of course for me was rock, but then Motown zoomed into town with a new take on R&B, giving us the birth of soul music. The third was Latin, but I ever got into it on its own. However I did love Santana incorporating Latin rhythms into rock.

This is about the Motown sound and for me leading the pack is none other than the Temptations. With two of the best soul voices Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin, they had the harmony and moves to match.

I've had this on my playlist a while, thought you might like it.

I love the long instrumental zone-out versions! LOL!

good one pat !

another great band, although not Motown, was Kool & the Gang.
Crooze FM has an instrumental version of this one, I always enjoy hearing

Patty, that was actually supposed to be the first one up there, not Yes. :laughing7: I don't ever remember Yes doing any Motown sounds :icon_scratch: :tongue3:

But I always loved the Temps, Tops, and Smokey, heck all the Motown crowd for additional listening pleasure :headbang:

Spart, I was wondering how Yes got into Motown, But I figured maybe the horse had posted for you! LOL!
Either that, or you really had a funky Motown experience! LOL! Good to see ya, bro!
