I've been finding a lot of silver this year but few silver coins! This afternoon I got to a site I hunted years ago but I only had an hour after work. It's been ploughed a few times since the last time I was there so I knew there would be targets. This is an old site but there was a house there into the early 1900s. I think the spoon and ring would be into the later part of the site...still, I'm always happy with silver.

They add up to lots of silver! good hunt!

Still nice to pull out silver on any day....

Interesting design on that spoon, any hallmarks or date letters to nail down the dates on either piece? Btw nice finds!

Spoon is hallmarked Palmer & Batchelder and the ring is an inter-linked forward and backward facing "C" like the Chanel logo. Still researching both...

Research shows that the spoon dates to the mid 1800s...older than I thought. It's monogrammed but well worn.

I'm always happy with some silver too, in any shape it comes in. The BIGGER the better.

Good digs.

Cool old spoon

nice finds congrats HH

Nice finds, that ring looks old too. Any idea about the age on that?
Dave

Nice big old silver, Romeo!

I know that you're good at straightening out those spoons. Will you attempt to fix that one?

Dave

It's marked with the makers mark and "STERLING" so I don't think it's too old...early 1900s maybe?

I m having no luck with the maker's mark on the ring...I hate not knowing something...anyone recognize the mark? It is an interlinked backward and forward facing pair of "C"s...looks like the Chanel logo.
