If any of you guys out there that is saving $1400 to $1600 for either the Deus 2 or the Manticore, I highly recommend the Nokta Legend 2.

You get 2 coils in the regular package deal and a backpack or pinpointer special to boot for right under $1000.00 bucks.

If you call a dealer you could get an even better price for it.

It doesn't have a color screen and the menu takes a little to get used but the benefits of saving up to $400.00 to $600.00 bucks and still have a great performing unit is worth the savings

I am sure it will eventually catch on but until it does I am gonna spread the word a bit here on t'net.

It has a better designed shaft compared to the manticore that doesn't shift the coil around and a larger screen than the Deus 2

I like both the manticore and the Deus 2 and they are excellent detectors.

I enjoyed the 2D spectrograph of the manticore, the menu system and the charging design are excellent.

I like the light weight and small footprint of the Deus 2 and how fast the recovery speed is plus the ability to break it down into a bag or backpack is very easy

The extra coils for the manticore and Deus 2 run from 300 to 450 bucks depending on what you want.

The Legend 2 comes with an 11 inch round and an 8x5 elliptical coil plus the 9 inch coil that is fixing to become available is less than $200.00 bucks shipped.

The Legend 2 can seperate as good as the manticore and the Legend 2 8x5 elliptical is a high contender against the manticores m9 coil.

I am primarily a coin and relic hunter with fairly mild ground in Tennessee.

Yeah you may dig a few more bottle caps and trash until you get used to the Legend 2 but it is an excellent unit with plenty of settings for the price.

I have found cricket responses on the L2. You might get a chirp here or there but not alot of feed back. I think a lot of people just went ahead and picked up the D2 or Manticore and don't seem to have time to mess with this.

I was waiting and waiting and waiting on the L2. The info coming out was limited at best during the pre order. I wasn't spending the money until I saw something concrete. I had been using the original legend for nearly two years and became very proficient with it. But after getting tired of the wait, I picked up the D2. I honestly didn't like it at first but now that I've gelled with it better, you can't hardly pry it out of my hands.

I was originally wanting the Manticore with the M9. After a lot of study and a good talk with Bart, I went with the D2. I don't beach hunt and spend most my time in trashy parks so the D2 was the better choice for me. I paired that up the with HF2 and I have been having a great time.

With that being said, I to would like to see more info and real world comparisons and solid performance review against the D2 and Manticore. I don't understand the silence on this L2. There are videos on it but where are the solid Ify, calibash or others reviews/comparisons? This should be a solid competitor.

The Deus 2 is an excellent detector and has great ergonomics. It is a very fast machine as well.

I bought my manticore from Bart along with the m9 coil when I made the purchase. I never used the stock 11 inch coil that comes with it

It is an excellent machine and it is about the best when it comes to cherry picking targets with the 2d graph screen it has

I no longer have the manticore as I traded it toward my Deus 2 recently.

There are a ton of videos online with the regulars doing their air test and such between those 2 detectors.

The legend 2 is a very good machine for what it cost. I too do not know why it has not gotten more attention. Calabash has done some test on the beach on a few targets between it and the manticore and the legend 2 pulled a better target ID compared to the manti on his video

There are a few guys I know of on YouTube who is using the legend 2. One channel is Wicked Digger

And another channel is Southern Relics

On Southern Relics channel one of the guys is using a Deus 2 while the other fellow is using the legend 2 out in a field. They do not compare each signal per say but there may be a few targets where they swing each unit over a particular target.

I think in time the legend 2 will catch on a bit more like the first legend did.

I also wish more guys would participate in this section of the forum like they used to.

instead people would rather just post a video and go on instead of taking the time to do a nice little review on a detector.

Yeah, I hear ya. Maybe it's just the summer and people aren't posting. It's slow at other places also.

You guys are getting me interested in buying one after some saving of money for it.
