Re: The Official "Field of Fools" Hunt Stories and Pictures Page.....1/2 REALE FOUND

Hello Everyone! First off, I'd like to thank Scott(Soupie) for a great weekend of awesome Treasure hunting. He did a superb job of lining up the sites, keeping track of everything, taking photos, and I can't even begin to describe how great the food was at the Cookout Saturday night!!! (Thanks again Scott and family) Our group Goldinwater, "Outhouse" Steve, and myself arrived very early Friday morning and Scott took us to some of his sites for some hunting. It was a one-room school site that is now a cornfield. I Pulled a couple of wheats, and I think I got one of my indians there, then I got a sweet signal and dug a very old Silver Wedding ring. We left there and went to another spot, It was an old homesite and we all pulled a wheat or two each, Scott pulled a nice Merc, and on the way to the truck I got a good signal and from about 6-7 inches comes a large copper disc, I think it's a large cent, and everyone's consensus on it is that it probably is a large cent(my first ever!) I didn't pull any silver the rest of the day, the hunting areas we were at were great and there was plenty of silver being found, just not by me! LOL!!! Saturday's hunt was awesome! We all met up and went to the 1800's horse track, we all just scattered in the field and I found a wheat, then about 20 minutes later I get a sweet silver signal and out pops a 1903o Barber quarter, My 100th Silver coin this year! Then, as I was walking across the field to show Goldinwater my Quarter I get another silver signal, I dig the plug and I see a silver dime showing on the side! I put the whole clump in my pouch and on my way over to where Goldinwater was hunting I ran into Lookin for Seated, and D-Dub. I pull out the clump and show them then we proceed to open it up and see what it is. I was happy for some silver, but I was sure hoping it wasn't a rosie! LOL!!! it turned out to be a 1910 Barber dime. we left the field a short time later and went back to the Ghosttown site we had hunted Friday. to make a long story short, I found a decent spot and started working it very slowly. I ended up pulling four more silvers all mixed in with iron(three of the coins still have rust stains on them.)I ended up having a Seven Silver Day!!! overall I had a great time, met some great guys, ate some great food, found some great coins. I couldn't ask for a better hunt. I want to remind all the guys who were there, if you're ever passing through my area, give me a holler and we'll go out and hit some of my personal favorite spots. Happy Hunting, and as Mel Fisher used to say every morning, "Today's the Day"

Re: The Official "Field of Fools" Hunt Stories and Pictures Page.....1/2 REALE FOUND

Sunday.....
This morning I slept in...so several of the hunters hit the local park before heading out to the racetrack,a few silver coins were found there and a silver buckle, there were a few nice finds at the track and I will post some pics soon, there was a nice tour of the landowners collection of old cars and there are pics of that also that will be posted soon,so I will get into deeper when the pics are up....

Several of the hunters had to head home this afternoon,So Lowbatts,Gimmetheloot,Watercolor,Scrounger D and I headed out this evening to a oneroom schoolhouse site for a final hunt...I can say I did not get the first silver of the weekend or the most, but I did get the last :occasion14: a fine looking 1905 barber dime.

I look forward to you all posting your stories and finds from the hunt, and just want to say thanks to you all for attending and making the hunt a great time for me...I truly enjoyed every minute...and look forward to the day we can all do this again...

Well I am off to bed,and after some sleep I will post some more about the weekend...

Till then,Have Fun Out There Folks...

Re: The Official "Field of Fools" Hunt Stories and Pictures Page.....1/2 REALE FOUND

After we ate, prizes were handed out for various categories,A special thanks to Mr Senior who provided them...I do not recall everything that won,but will try my best to cover them all.
P2C won for worst target under coil,he dug a nasty looking leach while recovering a target...there is a pic of this somewhere..
"Outhouse" Steve recieved one for best relic under coil,A very old flintlock style capgun...It was a great find...
There was a prize for best coin and worst looking coin, and if I remember correctly,L4S won for his holed half-reele,I do not recall who won the worst...hopefully someone can fill in the blanks on the rest..
There were also a few prizes awarded by drawing names as well..
