Well I went on a short recon mission this afternoon, I was looking for a couple of old Home sites shone on the old 1927 topo's
One was under the parking lot of a truck stop. So while i was down that way I checked out the site where I found my Breast plate and AVC Button. I brought along the ATPro with me to let it loose and see what she could sniff out, I wasn't let down, First was a penny sized coin, next came a .58 three ringer, then two overall buttons, A lead pencil, a piece of buck'n ball, Another overall button. And then It happened a whisper of a high tone, just enough to let you know that it was there, Another day and I would have passed on it ...but not today no today I was digging any high note I heard, So at 4 1/2 inches out pops another penny sized I got on another penny coin. Dad nab it!!! on the hunt continued. Then I got on another Button binge a Liberty overall button, an unknown button that fell apart
as soon as it came outta da ground. then there was the few odd pieces of trash metal, piece of a hinge, a piece of what i think is a curry comb....But it's made of lead
. AND THEN! That sweet 88 high pitched sound that only comes from Silver! It came from about a foot from the eagle breast plate and about 3 1/2 inches down, I could tell it was Silver so I just put it into my pouch until I got home. It was close to 5 pm so I headed home, Let my wife guess the year of the quarter: She said 1863, And I called 1853. We were both wrong it was a 1915 Barber, One of the penny's was an Indian 1907 and the other a wheatie was a 1918. thanks for looking. Also found a toe tap.
