What is even weirder is how the mind creates memories for gaps in time. In dementia patients they will come up with these long, elaborate, detailed stories that are totally false and inaccurate. Sometimes they create wives, children, all sorts of things. The next day...poof! The whole thing is gone and starts all over. Two sayings with a lot of truth behind them.

1. Keep lying long enough and you believe your own lies.
2. When in doubt, keep faking it until it becomes real.
