My 2nd Tot Lot. Coolest thing I found was a shovel buried about a foot deep in the sand. And now I know where I'm NOT taking the kids. Broken glass and rusty stabby things everywhere. Yeesh!
I pull hundreds of rusted bobby pins and bobby pin parts out of the lake every year. They are dangerous and sharp once they break apart. I never realized until I started detecting how many people still use the darn things.
Always feels good to clean up the parks a bit. No telling how many pounds of glass, nails, fence links, electrical box knock-outs, etc I've pulled from the sand and mulch in tot lots. Good on ya. Karma will come around and pay you back, guaranteed.
Anybody that is going to swim in The Chesapeake Bay this year, or ever should wear some kind of swimming shoes, the glass, nails, screws and junk I see is creepy bad. I have even seen people come out of the water with their feet bleeding.
