Stopped by the Shoe Shank mill in Lancaster MA today. Found these metal pieces lying on the surface, and this coke bottle in the river.
I also found this little guy in a stream. A little baby snapping turtle!!!!
Can't wait to go back and metal detect the place!

I walked by there for the first time today. All I saw were some broken bricks (no names visible). Water levels are low so I should have looked around the riverbank.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Good eye on those iron relics. I was ice fishing once in January and at one end of the pond was a small stream that emptied into the pond. Where the steam emptied into the pond there was a small section that wasn't iced over. I do mean small....maybe 5 foot square. In that little bit of open water was a baby snapping turtle about the size of yours just bobbing around. I just don't know how it had survived in that cold water. Yeah take advantage of the severe drought we are having here in MA and get in there with your detector.

Always fun to find a new spot to hit.. Rip into it......

Looks quite promising...cute turtle! :icon_thumright:
