CAPE COD, MA -- A 10-year-old boy is the hero of the day for finding a long-lost pair of wedding rings in the toilet of his family's home.
Cameron Delande said he accidentally dropped his toothbrush into the toilet and when he went to fish it out, he discovered diamond rings that had been lost by a former owner 12 years before.
He told his dad about the discovery and with the help of a real estate agent, the pair tracked down the daughter of the home's former owner, Mary Trainor.
"They belonged to somebody's mom; if they weren't hers then they would belong to somebody else," Stephanie Delande, Cameron's mother, said.
As part of a thank you-gift, Trainor gave Cameron $100, which he spent on video games.
She also gave his parents a gift certificate to a local restaurant and promised to watch their kids when they decide to redeem it.
