Found two more dimes tonight but both were eaten up a bit by the water. Crazy how the condition of silver coins is so variable for me when water hunting. The seated quarter I found a few feet away on Sunday looked great. Only the second 20th century silver from this area and seated #6 fty. Ive found around 12 seated(even more Spanish:) ) from this general area since I started water hunting in 2018

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!! Hope Your next ones are in better condition!

Here in Mi silver comes out like it was dropped the same day but I imagine water would do a number on them but if your pulling those and some Spanish alls good Good hunt my friend Stay safe .....Tommy

Nice job on the silvers. At least you can identify them.

Always a neat find, anywhere! But, ya know, that's part of the reason I gave up hunting water. Its the place to be for jewelry but its such a shame what it does to the coins. And, that, is really why I do this. A coin shooter at heart I guess.

Congrats!

was just taking to a friend about this - just some examples from a salt water spot i hit - most beaches east and west - of this one beach
_south coast of cape cod - the coins come out like this

You can see the variation in condition just from the five seated Ive pulled from the water this year. Im sure they would all be worse if I was in salt rather than brackish water. I get that crust on some of mine and those are usually the worst

You are telling it like it is.The Ohio soils have been great on silver ,except where a lot of fertilizer was used.

Love the seated, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Nice finds, especially the Seated. What a productive area you found. I tried water hunting, but did not give it enough time to find anything good. I really struggled on the recovery and gave up. May have to try again based on your success. Congrats!

Something to be said for "having" one as opposed to not. Just a personal preference. A lot of times you break off the outer crusts and there's detail enough for id. I just prefer that when I do uncover a silver coin, it shines up at me. :tongue3:
