Was able to take the girls out this weekend for a couple of hours to an old lumber camp....they were thrilled to be able to ride the four wheeler on the back logging roads. Of course I found mostly rust .....Just started getting through a few layers when dark set in so will return....silver has to be there somewhere

Ditto, I like the old kerosene lamp parts. I got a horseshoe last Monday, but it's the closed-end kind and I don't think it matters which way I nail it on the shed. Wait, I don't have a shed. Have a garage with joists, though.

That's a very fine bunch of relics, and you'll find some coins RSN. I wish I could get one or more of my daughters out hunting with me, but they're busy with their respective stuff.

Enjoy the remainder of the summer / indian summer weather!

Rust ain't a bust, so keep it, it is a must! :D Keep at it! You will find some old treasure soon.

yup,, i can smell silver from over here !!! first silver coin, a washington Q

Well girl I love it all, looks like my kind of finds! That was allot of digging. Keep at it there is more there for sure. Girls look like they are having a ball.

God bless
Peter

Nice post Gypsy and great quality time with the girlies! My wife did not want me to buy my ATV but she and my daughter use it more than I do now, it is a great machine for hauling off the leaves, apples, grass and whatever, I have a small trailer for it and it is a lot of fun. It is street legal here in Germany with license plates and I used to drive it to work on occasion. You found enough horse shoes to bring you lots of luck. I have found hundreds of Ox shoes, two this evening but, only two horse shoes in 18 years of detecting. HH, Mike

Great finds Christy, were do your store all your treasure? The girls look great.

Now thats funny Mike...I have found hundreds of horseshoes and two ox shoes in all my time of detecting this glorious rust! The girls lucked into the fourwheeler from a generous grandpa....sure makes going into the backwoods alot easier and hauling home all these fabulous finds ! :D

Gypsy,
A bit too much iron in your diet. ;D Thanks for the post and pictures. Looks like the girls are having a blast.

Looks like you had a great day. But heck, if it's spent with your kids it's great no matter what you do.
Gypsy you must have some interesting collections lying around. How big is your bottle collection? I was just given permission to hunt a spot with 3 cellar holes, an old cement foundation, and more dadburn bottles then I've ever seen. You ever see a Listerine bottle that had a cork for a stopper? Problem is I'm alot more interested in relics and coinage.
Anyway, wish you and the family the best!

P.S. Bring your detector to Michigan and give it a try.

Queen of Rust, nice to meet you I'm the King of Pop Tops. It's nice to be royalty is it not?  ;D
