Was able to take the girls out this weekend for a couple of hours to an old lumber camp....they were thrilled to be able to ride the four wheeler on the back logging roads. Of course I found mostly rust .....Just started getting through a few layers when dark set in so will return....silver has to be there somewhere

Keep digging those old places.......
I dug an old camp site south of Hawkins Wi a few years back , spent 4 days , dug a lot of iron , then out of the ground comes an old flattened prince albert can ,down about 7".........
My 4th & 5th gold coins came out of that can along with some silver..
i have never found any gold coins where you would expect them to be,seem the are always in some boondock area along with real old bottles or where the trash was disposed of.
keep on having fun

Oh...I find mostly ox shoes, just the opposite of you! :P Only a handful of horse shoes in 20+ yrs...and a box full of oxen shoes....go figure....

Its still lying against the tree....I have learned my lesson about dragging everything home! LOL.....Its nice to see you back Lance.
