Just wondering if anyone here has found a whole one of these lids and can tell me what it says? It may be upside down but looks like WOO on top and UP
on the bottom. Also any idea on the top brass piece. It is very thin.
Found this at a 19th century house site. Probably built around 1830s but was still standing in the 1870s. Not sure yet when it was abandon. So far just some organ reeds, lantern parts and misc. brass. Great site as its in the middle of a corn field, near a spring and on a military road. Tons of brass and iron everywhere. Im looking forward to getting back as soon as the snow goes away.
