It's been a pretty cool wet spring all up and down the Rockies this year. It's 46° this morning east of Boulder, Colorado.

That is gorgeous...I do miss Montana. The weather can be almost cruel, while beautiful beyond description at the same time.

I spruced up your image just a little. Hope it's OK, if not I'll gladly remove it.

I have a distinct image in my memory of one night back in January of '95. I was headed west from Billings on I-90 in my Freightliner Classic, pulling a load of dimension lumber. The 3406 Cat was just purring away even though I was running #1 diesel....the skies were clear, but there was an almost full Moon, and a fresh foot of snow blanketing the landscape. Cold..like -15f., and the air was as still as can be.

Across a rather long, straight stretch the landscape was just full of sparkling light..the Moon on that fresh snow...almost like a scene from a Disney movie. I looked in my side mirror, and trailing along behind me were exhaust contrails as far back as I could see.....just hanging in that still air..like they were frozen.

It was damn near magical, and I recall telling myself to remember those few moments because I had just seen something very, very special.
