Third hunt with my new equinox 800 in a cornfield turned out pretty good with finding my first standing liberty I’ve ever found and then some other coins and odds and ends. Went online and found what most people recommended for coin settings on the equinox 800 in the field and tried those out.

On a side note, Don’t get me wrong I love these coin settings but I’m just wondering if you all have recommended settings For finding coins as well as buttons The buttons read so low with these coin settings so I’m not sure and just wondering if I’m able to do something to change that.
Thanks!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!! If it helps any, I set My Nox up in 5 tone, and Nickels and everything from 23 up I set at the highes tone, and adjust the volume as my ear defines. The segment for Indians I set a little lower, but keep the volume the same. Setting your tones to preference your targets is the best
way I see for you. Gonna be kinda hard to get the numbers to change. Play around in 5 tone adjusting tones for desired targets. I do this sometimes to get the goodies out, then go back in 50 tone in park or field to clean up the possibilities of any other goodies:) Good Luck and Happy Hunting!!!

Thanks. I understand that you can’t get the exact numbers for an exact target but it’s just weird that the button tone I got when I tested my mode on my machine was a 16 at home but the same tone and number was always iron out in the field and obviously iron tones and buttons should be WAY different if you know what I mean.

Yes I know what You mean. I know I shouldn’t, but I notch out 14,17,21&22 after I get My tones set up for the areas of choice. I set My Iron Bias at 2 to 4. I can’t see a button hitting as iron, but maybe there was iron masking it? Also when I go back over an area once I’ve cherry picked, I dig All repeatable tones in park/field. I’ve found Indians hitting at 20, Dimes hitting at 22, with iron in the hole with them. If there’s another alloy close to the target, the numbers will change or be jumpy. Makes it hard sometimes, but I’ve found A lot of things I wouldn’t have with other machines I’ve owned. I accredit this A lot to the target seperation and digging a lot more items that I normally wouldn’t have. Happy Hunting!!!

Looks like you on track in using that 800.

I've found some buttons on my nox that rang in as 12. I tried running a coin program but was too scared that I was missing other good targets so now I just run field 2 with 5 tones and dig everything with a repeatable signal. If youre not digging trash then youre missing a lot of stuff.

Yes, What VA Relicman said. Congrats on your Standing Liberty.

Excellent advice RJ that nox loves coins Good job on those I love those SLQs keep them finds coming. The Nox takes some tweakin to find the right settings that you like but save the programs so you can compare them with any new ones you try.
