could be the gucci bag as i also found some buttons with it, but a gucci high up in the mountains?
Gucci has used metal horse bits in various configurations on shoes (for men & women) hand bags, key chains, watch fobs, jewelry, bracelets, etc. It could have easily been on a man's shoe as a ladies bag.
As far as the miniature horse bits (any horse/mule bits) are concerned, I was under the impression they were made of steel, stainless steel, copper and vulcanized rubber. Your bit has been plated/coated with gold and some of it is flaking off. A useable bit for a horse wouldn't be coated like yours.
I realize it's not as exciting to find part of a shoe or handbag, and certainly not as interesting as a vintage horse bit, but if it's Gucci, it's worth more money! LOLBreezie
