I hope he's able to keep it under wraps till the fever dies down. The other rumor is that several hunters are tracking his every movment in an effort to find that spot. I was saddened to here that one guy even had his license plate number !! To me thats sad.....I would put in the effort to find my own spots !!
It was such an incredible find that I had to call around the treasure coast and ask.....seems his secret is safe so far !!
It makes the mind wonder if in fact it is another wreck. If true that could lead to another ship of the 1715 fleet being located, very exciting. Fabulous finds Jimmy! Congratulations!
There's the every man for themselves-theoryWhen the ships wrecked in 1715 the only civilized outpost was st. Augustine. Many survivors tried to make the trek from vero to augustine by foot. Along that beach trek many died with there wealth which they were carrying on there person. So it could well be that survivors died here. My mentors here in the keys once found a bunch of gold escudos scattered amongst the bones of a dead spanish survivor from the 1733 fleet. He was quite a distance from the salvage camp and was in the middle of the island when he perished !! Any scenario could happen.....wish I had a time machine !!
That was my thought exactly .Just the right amount of coins to be in someones pockets,or a small purse .When the ships wrecked in 1715 the only civilized outpost was st. Augustine.
