Hit a newer beach at sunrise - was hoping for some fresh drops - place had been pounded
I got some lures and sinkers out far and deep. Finds were few and far between - shiny quarter was found in dry sand on way back to vehicle
swinging wildly as I headed out - I rarely ever hit dry sand.
I was out about chin deep - tide was heading in and I was planning on leaving. People were pouring into parking lot and
if I stayed longer ...I would have to pay for parking myself. I got a nice signal and scooped and as sand slid down - I
thought I saw glint of gold. Ive learn that some sea grass and shells have fooled me over the years so I watched as sand filtered thru.
Gave it a shake and saw large thin band in the bottom of my scoop.:hello2:
This I believe was a recent drop - but believe it's an old ring - karat mark is worn off -
I also believe that this was lost by a very old person by the script initials inside
or it was lost by someone it was handed down to.
Its scratched, dented and nicked - its seen some years
Either way - glad I did not get skunked
