Well a few months ago I was at work and a guy rode up to me and with an Australian accent asked where the closest hotel was. He was on a bike, no not a motorcycle but a bike. He had a ton of gear hanging from it, so I asked him where was he from and what was he doing. Gavin tells me that him and his wife were touring north America! He tells me that in the past 5 days they had ridden from New York to the very spot we were talking now!

I've always admired people who pull of great feats like these and hope to walk the entire AT trail one day myself. Anyways I wanted to give him something from NC to remember it by. Earlier that day on my lunch break I had walked a field and found a few points, so what better to give him! I reached in my pocket and shoved a small morrow mt. Into his hands and gave him a quick history lesson in the native Americans in my part of NC. He was very happy to receive it as was I to give it! Today he sends me this email! I thought it was super awesome and thought I would share with you guys! Thanks for reading. (My email is Bobglenn61 its a long story but I guess that's why he says "hi bob") haha

Oh and the point on the left is the one I gave him

It was very nice of you to give the "stranger" an artifact to take home. I'm sure he will show it to his friends with the story of his travels through North Carolina. I did about the same thing with a visitor from Australia and gave her a few real points from Georgia along with a reproduction dinner plate sized coke button sign that she was admiring. I have yet to meet a person from "Down under" that I did not like. They seem to be really good people.

I've got a few but very few. Started too late collecting to find any good ones "in the field" so to speak. No high dollar ones so far.

Man Bob...I mean Johnathan that was cool of you. Cool story to tell as well, thanks for sharing with us. Do you think he took I-40 to Cali? I can't recall ever seeing a bike on 40. Australian people are cool. As GA said, I have never met one Australian that wasn't patient or fearless.

It is good to share your finds. We gave the wounded warriors fired civil war bullets when they were in town. What goes round comes round.

That is an awesome gesture!! A good reminder to the brave young men and women of the brave ones before them.
