I just saw someone post that on LinkedIn last night. Pretty cool what hi-speed photography can reveal.

Good pics and measurement. Probably .38 revolver bullet. Impacted something close (velocity had not dropped off much), hard and immovable.

I've lost count of the lead bullets that look like that. Mining areas are also either forest service land or BLM. Hunters don't always hit what they are aiming at, or just shoot anything for the hell of it 1 six pack and everything is a target. When the copper jacket came out, they usually do not mushroom.

Cool lead recovery

I like smushed lead, it always makes me wonder if it actually hit an animal and went right through.
Here is a copper jacketed bullet that hit the same spot.

Though I still prefer finding the big caliber lead from the 1800s that are totally mushroomed nearly flat.

Pepper .. you find half round half flat 76 caliber stuff there ? I do here near Cape Vincent.

If my memory serves me right, there was 3 other ones also. But up to a foot away from these 2.
I just thought it was a really cool find.
