....and might make me think next time I see one of those "common - worthless" WW2 military button finds. Seen the story/interview on CNN, and apparently his son says he never imagined his father would be someone who had written poetry. Also never spoke of the dark side of war so finding something like this was quite a surprise.

Yeah, when I started detecting I was on to some good Rev War stuff fairly quick and bewteen signals I tell yeah I used to do a heck of a lot of thinking and day dreaming. Going from Rev War to WW2 is certainly different in many ways, but not so different in the ones that count.

Thanks for sharing that Iron Patch. It hits home this weekend. My Dad flew 33 missions in the 44th Bomb Group in the Eoropean theatre. I have his diarys flight jackets medals and uniforms. I put it all together in a video tribute for the family.
A somber reminder of the sacrifices the men of World War 11 made. The greatest generation in my opinion.
