THIS is interesting; "down in New Orleans"... COURT CASE! "Google" Beale & others v Walden. THEN... New Orleans Architecture: Jefferson City, page 25.
Coffee...?

Any more info...? Thomas Beale, Sr. died in 1820... so it IS possible.
SO! R & I from MANY sources agree with what Richard wrote in ONE LETTER, ONE ENCLOSURE; SUBJECT: THE BEALE TREASURE... "Somewhere between the Fall of 1806, and May, 1807... a dispute arose between Thomas (Beale, Sr.) and James (Beverly Risque - Attorney) concerning a 16 year old girl" named Judy/Julia HANCOCK (in Fincastle, Va.). Judy/Julia's father was Col. George HANCOCK, and BOTH were descendants of John HANCOCK, signer of ORIGINAL DOI. it was a FAMILY HONOR "Issue"; Thomas Beale, Sr. shot James Beverly Risque (who survived his wound). Thomas Beale, Sr.
fled to New Orleans, La. and James Beverly Risque, later moved to Lynchburg, Va. with his 3 kids (after his wife, Elizabeth Kennerly died). JBR's kids were Adeline, Ferdinand, & Harriet; Adeline later married Giles Ward, father of JAMES BEVERLY WARD, and was "willed" her father's HUNTING HILLS plantation/farm upon HIS (JBR) death. JAMES BEVERLY WARD (grand-son of JBR) is buried there.
Always just one more "connexion".Grimes is an important name as this was one of Laffitte's attorneys and known associates. Now if you can connect Beale Sr. to the Salt Lick Beale.......![]()
