Nice-looking knife but sadly it will have little value in that damaged condition.

Thomas Renshaw (& Son) moved his business to the ‘Stand’ works on Corporation Street, Sheffield, England in 1869. So that’s the earliest possible date for a knife with the ‘STAND’ trademark.

After the deaths of Thomas in 1893 and his son William in 1896 the business was run for a few years by Thomas’ widow Louisa Margaret Heaton and her son, William Jr. The business was offered for sale in 1900 and no longer appears in trade directories thereafter.
 

Thanks f or your answer. I suspected that what you said was true. But the knife was pre 1900s so it belonged to my grandfather or my great GF.
