Great job on the V! I'm over 72 boxes in with no sign of one yet!

I have a question for you: Why do you pull out the nickels from the 50s?

I have a question for you: Why do you pull out the nickels from the 50s?

For a few reasons.
1. There is a lot of key dates in the 50s. 50d 55p etc.
2. I enjoy collecting coins
3. I am going to try an sell mixed rolls of 40's & 50's for 3-4$ a piece on Craigslist.
4. Some LCS will give you 7-10 cents for pre 1960

Thanks for the info. So aside from the war nickels, the 50D, &55P, any other ones I should be looking for?

I've been tossing all non-silver Jefferson nickels. Maybe I'll take another look.

Ya there is like 10 under 10million. Those are keepers for sure

Wow i have to go to my lcs. I didnt know they pay that much for pre 60s. I have to check for key dates first i have around 7 rolls from the 50s

After 2 days in vinegar the Buffalo appears to have a date. Looks like 1917. Going to sit for one more day to see if it shows up more.

so i put the buffalo in vinegar for a few days now i can fully read the date. 1917. however the coin is very drab. no luster. bleek. how do i fix this? help please

No way to fix it, it is a trade-off. You get the date, but the luster disappears.

Only some LCS pay that price. eBay buyers do pay that price though.
