I was thinking mirror or brush handle? Cutlery? It appears to be hollow. Found at 1890s mill/house site

Looks to me like the broken end of a baby mirror, or baby silverware from photo. Betting it is silver for sure, or at least good silver plating to hold that outer condition. Great find, congratulations

I’m fairly sure that it’s silver also. The dark grey patina gives it away. Great find👍
