The 5x8 DD is the most used, and is awesome. Mine never comes off. Lots of threads on this coil!!

5x8 is a must..you wont find any at pro users that think different..its made a huge difference with my machine

The 5x8 is a fantastic coil for the ATP! Along with the speed of the detector, I can thread needles between trash targets.

Never used the concentric coil on my pro but the 5x8 is great in the real trashy areas. John Edmonton has all the coils, I think, for the pro so maybe he will come along and give you a good comparison between the two or you could pm him. Great guy with a lot of exp and will answer your questions.

They offer five coils for atpro they are all the best depending on what you are doing. No coil is a waste of money as long as you understand it. Big coils are deeper than small coils. DD coils handle trash and mineralization better than concentrics. Concentrics are deeper than dd's. All of this generally speaking. I'm drooling over my 12 x 9 concentric because its the deepest of the lot and I have plenty of big clean sites that need a big coil for covering large areas and finding the deepest goods. You may prefer a small dd in a trashy site it will cut thru the trash better. The 6x9 concentric is bigger and hotter and concentric and will go deeper than the 5x8 dd generally speaking.

Here's a link to some information on coils you might find of interest.

Thanks to all! Think I'm gonna go ahead and get on and try it out.

may have to get that 12x9 I do a lot of hunting in open fields to find old home sites. There are a lot of times where I don't get signals and a deeper coil would help. I want to try the atx in some sites but can't talk wife into that yet. Guess I'm going to have to hunt some Lake Erie beaches this summer and find some gold to pay for it lol.

From the stock coil I myself having the experience id go right for the 5x8 & wouldnt think twice

My 5 x 8 never comes off my machine. Great coil.

When I had my pro the first two things I bought where the pro pointer and the 5x8 coil, at first looks I thought this thing is tiny compared to the stock coil and took a few outings to get used to it,but after that it never came off, , iam now though haveing separation anxiety from selling my pro ,
