Three cent nickel and The Farmer's Wife

Probably would've passed on the signal most any other day. Just above iron VDI but a steady signal and no iron audio to be heard. Silver slump has me digging anything that doesn't sound distinctly like trash.



My second or third three cent nickel but by far the prettiest of them.



Not sure what this would have come off of but The Farmers Wife is an old periodical.



Third ring in two weeks. I think I found four rings all last year. Of course it's in pieces. The front piece says "A century of progress, Chicago, 1933". Apparently one of many varieties of rings for the Chicago World's Fair of 1933-34.

I don't remember last one of those ive seen posted

They aren't easy to find. Well into the foil range. I think it was 42-45 on the ATPro. The people who would be apt to find them are those who would be looking for small gold. But those folks are usually on the beach or the soccer field. Best way to find one is to find a historical area and just dig everything. I know a couple other hunters who have come across one but I'd say there are probably fewer detectorists who have found one than those who haven't.

Well I'll say this--finding a nickel 3c piece doesn't happen very often. I think I've only seen 1-2 others posted since I joined the forum almost 10 years ago. And the one you dug is in far better condition. Congrats!
