Steve, those are some well made and interesting pieces, That one sure does have a good edge on it doesn't it. Great stuff steve thanks for posting the photos.
 

We find the shoulder bones here, but I have yet to find one that was used as a shovel or digging tool. Those 3 are killer examples Steve. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I like scapula hoes/shovels. Good show, thanks.

Aside from gardening, I bet they needed lots of scapulas for digging. Especially for digging the fortification ditches (dry moats) surrounding the villages. I don't know if your site had ditches, but most villages had them.

I would imagine digging the ditches would be extremely labor intensive and required lots and lots shovels. The ditches surrounding a typical village were over ten feet deep! The fortification systems (moats and palisades) kept their enemies out for hundreds of years, but they couldn't keep out disease...

What else could they have used for shovels, besides scapulas? Anyone know?
