Three Standing Liberty Quarters & 2 Buffalo Nickels in one hole..........

Let me start by saying what a first 2 hours detecting! Got a late start yesterday, only had a couple hours so I went to an old turn of the century (1900) picnic grove, but was disappointed when I heard bulldozers at my spot, timbering. I said to myself now what? On a pure hunch, went across the street to what seemed like a nice spot in the woods, sparsely wooded but very detectable, saying to myself, looks like something could have been here! Ever had a hunch like that? Well, my hunch paid off!

Was there about an hour and got some really good signals. Multiple coin signals in this one hole a few inches deep were 5 pennies in one hole. 4 wheat pennies 1911, 1913, 1916, 1919, and one Indian Head 1898. Sheesh! Ok, yea I know they're only pennies, you know what I'm thinking, where there's old copper, must be silver, right?

So, I continue swinging and managed to dig up a 1925 Northumberland County 98 Dog License. I'll take it! Then a 3 ringer what I believe is Civil War bullet, correct? Then a lady's vintage pin or brooch. Then multiple signals in one hole again, steady quarter signals mixed with other alloy. Did a hole 3 inches and staring at me is multiple silver. I put the detector down and started feeling with my fingers. One Standing Liberty Quarter, a 1926, then another, a 1928. then another quarter 1928 again. Sweep the detector over the hole, a Buffalo nickel, sweep again, another Buffalo. Both nickels are worn, no dates. I haven't dug a SLQ in 25 years, now I dig 3 in one hole. Mind boggling!

Very nice. I've been doing this hobby for like 16 years and only found one SLQ, one IH, and zero Buffalo nickels. Awesome luck you had. Also I've never found multiple silver coins in one hunt. I rarely come across silver coins. So I'd say you did super well.

Great hunt! Unfortunately, the bullet is not a CW one- you can tell by the small vertical lines inside the rings, a post-CW design.

What an amazing hunt!! Anyone who has seen my posts knows I'm a huge fan and collector of SLQs, and I always look forward to seeing them posted- yours are incredible! 3 in one hole, all with dates? Never seen that posted anywhere. Many of us won't find that many in an entire hunting career- you did it on one hunt- Big time Congrats!!
