Thursday Evening Finds xx

back we went to the current favourite field, this time I left Himself to dig the Roman coins, and I headed off to search another area, he found 4 coins, which he has kept to try and identify, but all of them are the crusty type, no silver yet.

was delighted when I dug this little spoon (?) , he dug the next one, not sure what it is, top of a thimble, and strap end, pot leg, it’s a big one! Then a strange chunk of metal, looks like the lip off something (?) cute buckle, end of a bit of cutlery and badge of some kind, a thimble (?) buttons, and my 2 crusty pre dec coins. This weekend we have 2 full days to explore more bits of this massive field… I can’t wait! Xx

The spoon thingy looks familiar but it's not coming to mind. Digging Roman coinage is good, even though the crusty element has played havoc to the ID. Cute buckle I concur, as well as the thimble.
That field should keep you busy for a few hunts for sure.
Best of luck for the upcoming 2 days of digging, may the silver shine in the sunshine.

I was admiring close up the erratic tire tracks in the field thinking it resembles my own handywork...
Are those light colored bumps in the 3D picture sheep?

I meant in the brownfields above the buildings. Near the buildings being the wandering tire tracks like mine on the tractor....
And the dots in the next two fields above that field. Not quite corn or hay stacks/shocks... But bumps of some sort. Sheep perhaps. I don't....
