got the machine back from tesoro and they did this to it. it is hardwired and i would have to send it back to them to change coils.
the original connector is replaced with the same connector the headphones have. (stress relief connector)
has anyone else received their tiger back like this?
tesoro tested it and said it is water proof - i believe them. it will be underwater soon.

tesoro stands behind their products, and i thank them for that.
thanks for the feedback.

They used cable gland strain reliefs, probably IP68 rated, is there any markings on them? Probably good to 300 feet.

Tesoro is looking like one I will add to my list of possible machines, too bad the Sand and Tiger are not in production currently.

Thanks for the picture of the new Tiger Shark. I thought they were going to go to this set up to eliminate the connector problem as most water hunters don't change their coil anyway. I still have the old alum connector but only use the 10" coil on it. I would love to get the Clean Sweep Coil for it again as I sold mine during a senior moment. I expect the Sand Shark will to be hard wired also......

Why did Tesoro not come up with this answer a year ago
in relation to connector problem.
Machine could have been sent out and when / if thy
found a replacement connector thy could be swapped out .
Or thy could offer 1 free coil change if you wanted to swap coils.

I just wish they would start production already! Geesh!!

the guys and girls at tesoro are great. they told me last week that i was the first to have this done to the tiger.
they also said that hopefully this will get the ball rolling.

i used it the other day and it worked great.

tesoro is a very good company to deal with and the product and customer service is A+.

Yes Tesoro is a great company and the Tiger Shark is an excellent detector. I own 2 of them as well as an Excal. Tiger Shark is a great unit for freshwater work.

Best Regards,
Steve
