It was time to go & blind hunt 2 fields we have never done (as they have no intel on them) to help look for some missing tractor parts. The fields were so big we stood no chance of finding the parts, & after 2 hours of nothing we decided to break for lunch.
There are only 2 good areas we have found on this farm, so for the last 3 hours we hunted a low yield Roman area. So low yield the 6 scrappies we got today was 50% of the total ever found.
The 5 hour risk was worth it;

6 Scrappies
Broken Rose Farthing
Lead Token
Broken Tudor Clothes Fastener
Spec. Buckle
Nice 13th C Buckle (a type I rarely get whole, might only be my 2nd one!)
2 poor conditioned Hammered Coins
11th C Viking Stirrup Mount(Only just got 1 last year after many years without, so now I'm getting them back-to-back already!)8-)

Is the Lizzy a sixpence ? It may be worn but you can easily see the profile and the date is clear as can be ! Doesn't appear to be clipped either.

Congrats on th stirrup mount! Viking came early this year! The 13thC buckle is a type we don't get here. Never seen before. :icon_thumleft:

Just to find those in a day would be a "make our year"! Nice saves! :occasion14:

Very impressive again!

Very cool CRU. I hope you continue to have good luck!

So if you find and return a tractor part does that qualify for an "Honorable Mention":dontknow:

I guess it would, as the huge blade thingy (a name a don't know but its goes deep & lifts up the ground under the tyre tracks, so its not so compressed), did £80,000 of damage to their Combine.

Yeap, its a rare type I think even over here.

It is a Sixpence but very heavily clipped to the inner circle.
