tips on detecting gems /minerals

i have an ace garret 250 and i was curious if anyone knows if this picks up on minerals,gems, or stones. i know the metals but say there was an arrowhead or a crystal would my detector pick up on that? how about a meteorite? so far had my detector for a year- still havent found anything but pennies and foil! but i still dig almost everything now that im learning my machine and what a good signal is. just curious about some more info if anyone can help. or any more tips on my machine will be great like what sensitity you prefer etc. thanks everyone!

Hmmm. Keep detecting. Pay attention. Gems, stones, Arrowheads(except trade points) and crystals do not make noises. Meteorites usually would. Remember that it needs to be metallic. I do not have a 250 but I have played with one once and found a nice Va button.
