Tips on Locating someone?

Yes Tax Records at the County Courthouse. or on Line if available in your area.

Call your Courthouse

If your Mom has the DEED that will have last owners name

The person should be about 89. Jeff of PA's idea is good, also check your local library's Polk Directory as far back as they go. They usually show names of family in the household as well. Another possibility is the Senior Citizen Center, someone may have known them or done the Meals on Wheels thing and have some kind of records. The other possibility is check some of the main churches--Baptist, Catholic, Methodist. Older parishioners may know something.
There's also the possibility of the newspaper last year or so having the Class of '35 Reunion listing.

I recently returned a 1939 class ring to someone.
First and maybe easiest of all, call the school (if it is still open) they should have an archive of graduating classes, names, addresses and being it's obviously not for a current student, and if you explane why you need the information, the school should give you whatever they have.
if any of the addresses are close to yours, or if there are any identifying marks inside the ring(intials), go from there.
after you pinpoint the name of the person, hit your phone book, usually someone still in the area who can give you a lead. Good Luck!!!

Check with the local electric utility supplier and explain what you are trying to do. If it happens to be a local government that is supplying the utility then all their records should be open for public inspection.
