I just HAD to hunt it for old money, although I got a lot of regular coins I only got this 1 old dime 🫣😩

Then the police showed up and asked me to leave 😂🤣
(It wasn’t posted BTW and nobody was there 🤷🏼‍♂️)

Congrats on finding the Merc !

I've been asked to leave a few Demolition sites.
It's understandable that the property owner could see it as a liability.

Looks like a great spot to detect before the land is covered over with buildings and a parking lot. Metal detecting would do no harm.
my sentiments exactly.. Hunting for 40+ years and I can't ever remember being run off a construction site by the police... :dontknow:

Some Karen must have called in on you, I doubt the police are out just looking for detectorists to hassle.
Nice dime!
I'm sure that's what happened because I have never had the police stop me in a construction site before when there was nobody there and it wasn't posted..

Looks like you got to be the first one to hunt it.

Like the dime! Better luck on your next hunt!
Actually I use the DEUS II, and I've done better in the last 6 months than I have in the last 6 years.. So I'm not too worried about my "next hunt" 🤣

And I'm thinking I covered at least half of it before the popo showed up....
So I was surprised I did not get more old money... years ago I popped a silver quarter in a place like that in downtown Myrtle Beach, nobody said anything..
Another lot in surfside beach produced a buffalo nickel... no problems there either...
you just never know.. :dontknow:

It works this way. If you do not own it or it is not public/. You HAVE to have permission to hunt it

The secret is to wear a white helmet a reflective vest and have a lanyard around your neck with an ID badge holder containing a white piece of card. You'll look so official nobody will ask anything of you (you may even be able to order them around).
