hi,
got to the beach today - the waves were flat which made for good detecting. But after 2 hours of work all i had was 25cents to show for my efforts - would’ve done better picking up deposit cans! But then in the last 1/2hr of detecting the pixies smiled + i got a 2.3g 10k wedding band. Now that isn’t big bucks but at least it puts a smile on your face!

Good Job Again! I haven't been skunked yet in my one week career as a water hunter. Three days in the water and four precious metal rings. I know it is coming but I am hoping for my first multiple gold day before that happens. What kind of detector are you using?

Thanks,

Jim

i use a sand shark by tesoro
i started detecting about mid April of this year. Almost all of my detecting had been done in dry sand (over 50 times). dry sand yielded 2 rings (7/9 + 7/27). I also found about $80.00 in silver (i don’t count pennies). Most of my pickings have been from water detecting. I actually only really started water detecting on 9/25. The 5/7 ring was found on a beach that has flats + that was where i got the ring. The lake pickings were from only 1 lake - where my son lives.
Even though the water is SOOOO much harder to work - the rewards have been worth it. I will be doing as much water detecting as i can from now on. there are 2 aspects to successful water detecting - very hard work + keeping the pixies happy!
