Today's 2 boxes of Dimes and 1 box of halves
Hey all,
So today I went to pick up some boxes to go through. This week has been good to me so far in that I got a barber dime monday, and a 40% kennedy wednesday. I'm thinking I should have waited till Friday.
All three boxes came from the same bank.
Did the box of halves first. Right away I groaned when I opened it. Marked enders. Same mark on all of them. Despite that I still went through it. Total Skunk. Not only that, of the 1000 coins in the box, 77 of the coins had the same mark at around 10 were enders. A single black line on the reverse from top to bottom. There were a couple other marked coins in the box, just the usual ones I see but this single black line mark was so prevalent that I wonder if the bank is rolling their own coin machine bags. Also found a marked coin marked by two coin roll hunters which was different from the 77 other marked coins. (Pic Below) I found it funny. I think I'm done with halves from that bank. It's a S&S bank and all the coins were in S&S machine rolls. Box had no stamped code on the bottom. I always found it odd that bank had boxes of halves on hand all the time.
After that I dug into the dime boxes. First box, no code, total skunk. Second box was a bit better. No code but yielded a 1957D Roosevelt and a 1963 Roosevelt dime. So my dime average of 1 per box is still on track from that bank.
I'm thinking of sticking with them on dimes but no more halves. I'll switch to a Brinks bank for halves. I've actually found silver at the Brinks bank. :\
