Have been hunting the beach for the past couple of days. Two days ago a guy told us about loosing a ring about two years ago. He told us EXACTLY where he lost it. So, today we headed up there, started hunting the area, then the guy showed up and showed us EXACTLY where he was when he lost it.
Five of us hunted the area for about an hour with no success. I then motioned to my brother that we were ready to go and I headed back to the truck. I made it about 10 feet from the truck when I heard a little girl screaming like crazy. Well, it wasn't a little girl, it was my brother!! I could certainly tell he had found something good.
This is the fourth ring in the past couple of days (2 mens wedding bands and another pronged ring without the diamond) but this one is the best EVER!!!!

If anyone has any info on the markings inside, please share. It says "750 IR"

I agree with all above! that is an absolutely beautiful ring!!! My wife would surely be wearing it had i found it!

Thanks everyone for the great replies and/or information. We are still VERY anxious to get it looked at by someone that knows rings. As mentioned in my first post, this ring was a total surprise, we were actually looking for a mans ring, reported to be worth $6,000. My first words to my brother we "is that it, did you find THE ring???".

Does anyone have any information about beach/water hunting??? Like what is likely to happen to a large rings when it hits the sand/water. Will they usually migrate with the current or just sink in the sand where they land??? We will probably be going back to the area to look for the "other" ring.

Tell your brother that girly scream was well deserved! :o :o WoW! What a beauty! :o :o

Many congrats!!! Nana

Well that figures all my beach does is give up pull tabs, bottle tops and can slaw...I guess I'm looking on the wrong beach...Congrats to you guys, your bro gets a pat on the back.

He's not sure what he's going to do with it. We were just discussing that a little while ago. Maybe he will decide after he finds out how much it's worth.

Yowzer! Be especially careful in handing it over to someone for appraisal - especially if he is wearing roller skates!

Red Baron,
That too is a really nice looking ring!!!!
I have always said that I would sell any jewelry that I find. My Civil War Relics is a totally different story!!!! I would NEVER sell any of them. I have only ever gotten rid of a couple of pieces, and those I gave to a lady for letting me hunt on her property.
I'm not sure what I would do if I found that ring. If my wife really liked it then I would probably give it to her for putting up with this "hobby" that I spend a lot of time at. If she didn't want it then I would sell it and get me another detector, an underwater machine, as I already have 3 "ground" machines.

Super nice ring! :o :o :o

Your middle initial wouldn't be B would it? And have you ever bailed out of an airplane?

Prober................
Um......I know nothing about where I left the money........Um, I mean........ what money????????? ;)
