Went down to the river bank today and searched a place that always turns up some interesting relics.
I found a model T valve cover a few weeks ago and found this valve cover today.

I have never seen one like this before.

MADE IN U.S.A.
PATENT PENDING
NEWSOM VALVE CO
ST.LOUIS
Anyone know what model year and what vehicle these went to?

After researching google books, I found this auto trade journal from 1919:

Apparently they were patented replacements and advertised easy snap on designs for existing valve covers used in the industry.
I just love history.
