So I wanted to find another place to detect besides the river and the lake. I decided to go to the local fair grounds.
I started behind the beer tent/building and the local grounds keeper asked if I found anything, at that time he asked to I didn't find anything good. We talked for a few minutes and he mentioned that they are putting in new water lines on the other side(I totally forgot about it and didn't think it would be okay. When he said that I said that I should hit that spot up and he said okay. So I went over there.
I ended finding an Indian Head(1862 if I remember), a V nickel(1912) and a Wheatie(1913)
I have been over there half a dozen times or more since and didn't find much but the usual garbage/junk.
Today I go and they put the water tank in and I am metal detecting over at the piles of dirt.
They finish with dripping the tank in the hole, then he starts digging with the little excavator, my first find and first silver of the year at that location and my first half dime. I get a signal in the piles, next to a rock, so I quickly pull some dirt out still a signal and he dumps more dirt on the pile a little bit away from where I was digging, some dirt filled out in, as soon as he dumped I took my shovel and dug and pulled dirt out , grabbed my Pinpointer and found the target, I think I revealed it and he dumped another, he dumps off to the side. I pick it up and look at it and it is a half dime. That thing is so light and thin.
Now either I and my Manticore are having a hard time with the dirt and trash and old fire pits or it is all me.
Anyway the IHP came later that day after I went to bk and back. I left the house at 8 am and was back home around 2 or 2:30 pm
